About Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice Service
Alexander Devine is a local charity that provides specialist palliative care and support to babies, children and young people with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions, and their families, across Berkshire and into the surrounding counties. Alexander Devine’s approach is child and family-centred in order to provide the best possible care and support that is needed, as well as helping them create memories, for however long they have together.
The charity’s care services include Respite Care, Specialist Play, Symptom Management, Family Support, End of Life Care and Bereavement Support. It provides care from its children’s hospice in Maidenhead as well as in the family home and in the community, including hospitals and schools.
Alexander Devine is an incredible organisation that provides vital support to families when they need it the most, and they continue to make a significant difference in the lives of many children and their families. With minimal government funding, the charity is almost entirely reliant on donations, fundraising and gifts in Wills to meet the £2.3 million cost of running its vital service each year.
