About Weldmar Hospicecare
Weldmar Hospicecare is an independent, local charity that provides specialist end of life care for adults in Dorset with a life limiting illness, such as cancer, motor neurone disease, or heart disease. They also support the loved ones of patients throughout what is one of life’s most difficult journeys.
Weldmar’s compassionate approach is aimed at enhancing the quality of life for those who need their services. Their team of skilled healthcare professionals include doctors, nurses, and therapists, delivering personalised care that focuses on alleviating pain, managing symptoms, and promoting emotional wellbeing.
Specialist care extends to services such as physiotherapy and occupational therapy, complementary therapy, counselling and bereavement support, and support for loved ones who have become carers. Wellbeing Support Sessions provide tailored activities for patients, carers and those experiencing bereavement the opportunity to come together and receive support in a relaxed and informal environment.
Weldmar also offers a hospice at home service for those wanting to spend their last days in the comfortable and familiar surroundings of their own home, as well as more sustained care in their Inpatient Unit, set in beautiful grounds in Dorchester.
Through their unwavering dedication and support, Weldmar Hospicecare not only helps individuals facing life limiting illnesses find comfort and relief, but also empowers families to cope with the emotional and practical challenges that arise during these difficult times.
